Senior Accountant (Inventory)
Island Energy Services is currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team. Under the general supervision of the Inventory Accounting Supervisor, the Senior Accountant prepares terminal reporting and other special reports for terminal customers and performs Kapolei Terminal inventory analysis. The Senior Accountant also provides inventory control and support functions for the Finance Department.
Desired competencies include: proven accounting skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Ideal candidate must be reliable and extremely trustworthy with the ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records, as well as able to establish priorities under tight deadlines and have a proven track record as a motivated, self-starter who can work on multiple projects and priorities within a fast-paced environment. Incumbent is expected to have sound knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office Suite programs. Prior relevant experience in the energy industry and SAP accounting environment is strongly preferred.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- At least five years of experience as an Accountant or an Auditor
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

- CPA preferred

Responsibilities
Major Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Performs yield accounting and reporting for Par West (Operator of the Refinery adjacent to Kapolei tank farm and a current terminalling customer.
- Performs terminal reconciliations – Account for finished product inventory, receipts, sales, and transfer volumes daily.
- Coordinate with operations to investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Maintains inventory record in SAP.
- Complete Government Reports as required by the Energy Information Administration, Department of Business, Economic Development & Tourism or other government agencies as necessary, in a timely manner.
- Performs balance sheet reconciliation, record journal entries and assist in month-end/ year-end close
- Validate inventory purchase term and invoices
- Provide timely inventory reports to suppliers or customers and maintain a good relationship with them by addressing their requests in a professional manner.
- Special reports related to inventory, revenue or cost of sales area as assigned
Compensation
IES offers a competitive salary and benefits package commensurate with qualifications and experience. Island Energy Services offers a competitive salary that commensurate with qualifications and experience. The hiring salary range for this position is $78,000 to $101,000. IES also offers a generous benefits package to include comprehensive health and welfare benefits, vacation, sick leave, 401k plus employer matching, supplemental voluntary insurance options, etc.Position is open until filled.
